This Kane wont demand Nuke

In the summer of 1987 I went to a movie where I went in a boy and came out a man. That voice changing, ball dropping movie was Robocop. The movie just blew me away with its style, tounge in cheek campiness, and over the top violence. Then in 1989 Robocop 2 hit the theaters, it was not as great as the first film but a very good sequel. The one thing that I took away from the 2nd movie was Kane, the bad guy turned cyborg. His design burned a place in my brain that turned into hours of drawing him during math class. Then one day to my joy in 2006 a line of blind box Robocop figures was released and guess who was in the assortment? KANE!! He is about 3" tall and has a unreal sculpt. I know this little guy only runs about $5 but he is one of my favorite items. Below I posted the Robocop Vs Kane battle from Robocop 2.

Big Man Japan released on DVD today

I had no clue today was the DVD release! I have to get this today. (where is the Blu-Ray?)

My name is Legion, for we are many.

Legion is a monster, or rather colony of monsters, from the movie Gamera 2: Advent of Legion. This figure was released by Bandai in 1996, and is 7" in hight about a foot long and came tagged. He is a bit small in scale with the Gamera that was released along with it. Only 2 figures were released with the film, not counting the theatre exclusive Plasma Gamera that I have already reviewed. This item really stands out in a collection due to its strange look and larger size, also have said before that Gamera 2 is one of my favorite kaiju movies it was a must have for me.
I got this one from Ebay a few years ago, they are common to find online
but prices fluctuate a lot.

Its Bandai Museum Gorosaurus time.

Released in 2004 this Bandai Museum exclusive is the dinosaur that did battle with King Kong in the TOHO movie King Kong Escapes in 1967. You also might have seen him in the Godzilla movie Destroy All Monsters in 1968.
The Bandai Museum's Gorosaurus released by X-Plus was sold in a bag with a header card as were all the later Bandai Museum figures. The hight is about 9" tall, also the head and tail have articulation and the lower jaw can open and close. The sculpt and paint on this item are truly outstanding. I have been trying to complete the whole X-plus line of Bandai Museum figures for a few years now and only 2 items stand in my way of a full set. Ganime the crab from Yog, Monster from Space has been the hard one for me, the last one I was bidding on jumped in the last seconds to a whopping $230.

Lets talk about Little Godzilla

Released by Bandai with the film Godzilla Vs SpaceGodzilla in 1994, this little guy really stands out in a Godzilla collection with his bright color and huge eyes. He also is a bit out of scale with the rest of the figures released. At this size as he should be very tiny next to adult Godzilla. This a rare figure to find and even rarer to find with tag attached. A bootleg is known to exist for this figure due to the fact that Bandai has never reissued this item. I scored mine on Ebay about 2 years ago for a fair price and have seen them posted many times since.

Ultimate Plasma Gamera

Most people that know me know very well that Gamera 2 Advent of Legion is my favorite Kaiju movie. The film has so much going for it, but I won't get into that right now. I have been looking for this vinyl for some time and final got my hands on it while shopping for toys at Mandrake in Tokyo a few months back with my friend Jonathan. I had all the other toys that went with the movie but this was the one holding back from having a full set. Before my trip to Tokyo I put this item on my list of what I was looking for and in one of the first stores we went to it was right there sitting behind the glass. In a large case with a price tag in yen that came to about $35. US dollars! Jonathan and I went looking for someone to open the case to get some prizes that we had spotted, and that when Jonathan started nudging me. When I asked what was up he started pointing at a man working at a station right next to us. At that moment Jonathan opened the Tokyo Underground book that we were using to find all the shops and the guy had a photo in the book. We spoke to him the best we could and he got the figs from the case we were asking about. After some more small talk he signed his photo in the book. This was just a great time to finish out my Gamera 2 collection.
This was only the 2nd Theater Exclusive that Bandai did, it uses the same Gamera mold as the retail fig. This ver is done in orange vinyl with dark green and gold highlights, really cool when you hold it up to the light.

Just a update from the last post*

Well looks like I might have my connection to get my paws on the green GB fig. My buddy Cliff told me he knows someone at Comic Con and they might be picking up the fig for me. Also if that fails I emailed a guy from Super7 that I had contacted before when the 2nd ver. was coming out, and he informed me the people on the GB mailing list should get an email soon with info.
Posted is a pic of my banana yellow ver.

Anyone going to Comic Con this year?

Damn it!! Another hunk of plastic that has caught my eye.
Seminal hardcore and straight-edge band Gorilla Biscuits teams up with Super7 once again for the final release of the figure based on their debut 7" cover. A tribute to the 12" G.I. Joe figures of the 1970's, heavily collected by Civ as well as many of the early Revelation records staff, the figure is cast in army green vinyl and comes packaged in a wooden footlocker with wraparound art of the Gorilla up to his elbows in urban warfare.
This Item is only going to be at Comic Con so If you know someone who is going let me know.
I have the 2nd pressing of this figure in banana yellow, some people think the item is a bit small but I really like the sculpt. Oh and its based on a fucking awesome band so thats a reason to buy!!

TREEVENGE!

I still get a kick out out this every time I watch it. Needs to come out on Blu-Ray with other short films.

Secret Base Ultimate Battle (Mini Figs)

While at Tate's Comics the other day I noticed they had the new Secret Base blind box mini figs of some of the companies famous designs. I grabbed two boxes for the low price of $2.99. Had my fingers crossed for Skull Brain figs but I got one of each design. The figs are small but well sculpted and look good compared to the original larger versions. I did try for one more blind box after I liked what I got but ended up getting the same Skull Brain that I got on my first try, so I gave it to my buddy. Posted below is the master list of the figs in the assortment and the items I got.
